Eric Sawyer (debut album) – 2011

After many years of jamming. gigging and making demos with so many very talented musicians, I decided that it was about time that I selected a set of songs, and put them on my first self titled album.

If you click on the album cover, or ‘here’ you will be transported to The Eric Sawyer Store @ ReverbNation.

Peace,
Eric.

+) Liner Notes (+

Though I have always regarded the recordings I’ve done in the past as being equal to anything I might have done should I have been able to afford to record with a brand name, the ghost in the cupboard never quite left my mind. It always reminded me that though I had been afforded some of the finest opportunities with some of the most talented recording wizards, it was still not nearly the same as getting that proverbial record deal: walking up the rolled out carpet, receiving the full force of being copyrighted, published and distributed. In short, this has been down to those multi-talented individuals I have worked with who made do with the best they could afford and with the advancements in home-studio capabilities; I’d say that the songs presented in this selection of eight tracks, represent the finest work I have done so far. ;)

The primary credit goes to Bruce Taylor from South Africa, who patiently put up with my crap and handed me back my bare bones versions after hours and hours of lovingly nursing, baby sitting and resurrecting my tunes in his home-studio in Bergvliet, South Africa. Of the eight songs presented in this selection, he recorded the first seven at different times between 1996 and 2005. “O Lord of the faders, I acknowledge my debt!”
