After that old hippie-seed failed to deliver the Good News, Larry Norman and Randy Stonehill became two of my primary influences. (between 1977 and 1979)
“Apple ‘n Boots”
by Eric J. Sawyer
Some time ago, I did a page on Katoikei’s Jukebox about ‘Randy Stonehill’ including the front and back cover of ‘Paradise Sky’ ~ I read the cool liner notes while listening to the album ( Sorry brother, I prefer ‘Welcome to Paradise’ and the roots rock ‘n steel pick!!!) and when I got to the back cover, it had all those reminiscent-mystery-art of the early albums by both Larry and Randy.
Yet, I did not make the connection until I was visiting “THE ANCIENT STAR-SONG” ; and there they were! The boots! The munched apple!, on the back cover of the 1980 album ‘Almost’ So Long Ago in the Garden. by Larry Norman.
I’ll leave it to the rock-art-experts to puzzle over, but hey I love them both in spite of the fact that they both turned out to be humans, after all.
