It’s always a lot harder to get back on the horse when one falls down really hard. Yet it is always a lot easier in life when there is a sense that one is not utterly alone in one’s adventures. Apart from the obvious caring family and friends which surround one when one hits a rough patch in the road, the inner struggle to get up, dust off one’s self, evaluate what caused the accident and then carefully decide upon what step to take next.
I tried running in the past, the far off past and it never really achieves much for one’s going to ultimately going to have to deal with it even if it’s not in the exact same form.
My musical adventure in England has been pretty hard thus far, but it’s not without some really high points. It’s these high points which inspire me to keep on going and keep moving onwards.
As I’ve mentioned in the past that when I arrived in England in early 2008 I was too weak to even consider playing. I spent about six months recuperating from the surgery and then gradually began testing my energy levels and practising my songs over and over to prepare for what gigs might open up on this completely new circuit.
Here is a brief list of the first few gigs I did:
~Performance in Norwich, UK~
1. “The Regal” (Dereham Rd) – 7th, 28th December 2008.
2. “The Music House” (The Waterfront) – 23rd January 2009.
3. “Grapevine” (Bedfords) – 29th April 2009.
4. “The Bell Inn” (Salhouse) – 24th May 2009.
5. “The Music House” (The Waterfront) – 19th June 2009.

There were a few others and then we moved too far north and without a car, I decided to play on the streets and did so until I was asked to join a band in North Walsham and as you know that recently came to end much like a whirlwind romance.
I’m hoping to form a band called ‘Blue Django’ (see my advert at Join My Band)
Update: 10 December 2011
We are currently a duo in the making considering songs for a demo and sets for rehearsals for the southern summer festivals. Additional to this I am considering a second acoustic duo, to commence gigging in the new year. The band name Blue Django is entirely associated with any future projects I will be involved in and if you would like to join my band, please write to me at bluedjango @ easy com or phone me at UK 01692 403909 – alternatively email me direct at katoikei @ gmail com
Read my page at North Walsham Guide for my biography accompanied by videos, links to my biography etc.

Peace,
Eric Sawyer (Blue Django)
In the meantime (weather permitting) I’ve decided to return to street jamming to keep my voice strong and keep my body healthy. I really miss the twice a week work outs in Earth Studios in Norwich, but I’m getting back on the horse!
Peace,
Blue Django
