It’s kinda weird, I know.
Let me see if I can explain this in a few stanzas.
After close to two year of diving into instrumentals due to the paper thin walls, the onset of winter snows and unfamiliar territory, I was suddenly awoken out of my slumber by an idea (no not ‘Inception’ – okay, you be the judge) and so set about advertising for a position as the vocalist for a band. ( I’d also noticed that in England, certainly the countryside villages, that bands seemed to take all the available venues – not that they’re getting paid much for their efforts! ). So, I auditioned for a place in three bands and ended up running with the third group of musicians a lead vocalist for +/- six months and then found myself back where I started and so reevaluating my experience and deciding based on what I’d learned from the experience, I decided to go back to my original idea of forming a band performing my own songs, not that I’ve shut the door to collaborating, at all. (In fact the contrary, for in all collaborations that I’ve engaged it, it has been with the specific intent to do just that – Collaborate!)
So, I popped up and advert on Join My Band – website (again
) and received six responses plus some interested responses from a couple of guitarists I’d met on You Tube. I was fairly excited (you can imagine
) but most of the replies were half-in-half-out because of my uncertainty about destination at this time (I’m a gypsy by name and by nature and well when that old Chocolat! wind begins to moan through the valley it’s not long before I’m off again).
However, of about three very interested musicians one approached me directly and before I knew it I was headed south and after a cup of tea, a delicious meal and an awesome sunset for this time of year, we headed up to the studio and plugged in, turned up and jammed! I mean it! We jammed! and jammed! and JAMMED! Basically, we covered about ten songs and I even shot my allotted time and ended up riding home down England’s dark and narrow lanes. Yes, I did get lost – a couple of times.
So, that’s it folks ‘Blue Django’ is now a duo with the strong possibility of becoming more. For now we are in studio working on demos and preparing for the Summer concert circuit, gigs and whatever might unfold for us.
I’m genuinely excited and thankful to the Lord and to you for your good vibes, positive comments and prayers in unknown tongues.
Peace,
Blue
