‘Billy The Kid Revisited’ is a version of the story told me by a journalist. I thought his take beat the popular tale and painted a character that was probably closer to the truth than the legend would have us believe. 
Originally, I wrote this song for some of the pub gigs I was doing in Hout Bay and it ended up on my first album ‘Highway Sixty One’. Recently, I played with a blues-rock band and decided to re-adapt it to the genre (in particular giving it a Canned Heat feel) and I thought the results were most pleasing. Combined with some video snippets from the movie ‘Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid’ starring such luminaries as Bob Dylan and Kris Kristofferson and even though it doesn’t depict the more popular version of the legend, there were a few choice moments that I thought fitted my modern version well.
